Rovers gained their first victory of the season after a fantastic 3 v 0 victory over Stirling Albion. Goals from Lewis Mclear and a double from Ryan Watters sealed a well deserved victory. Lewis scored after 9 minutes after bravely blocking an Albion keeper’s clearance and comfortably controlling the ball to walk it into the net. Lewis superbly made the second after superb work on the right, crossing for Watters to blast in a close range effort off the keeper into the net. Stirling Albion had the majority of possession in the second half but Rovers keeper Morrison was absolutely superb once again and stopped everything Stirling had to give.
Congratulation’s to Ryan Watters, son of X Rovers player Willie Watters on two fantastic goals, his second and Rovers’ third one of the finest worked goals every seen at the Reigart / Cliftonhill stadium for many a year – another goal of the season contender! Amazing interplay with Watters and Gary Fisher found the striker just inside the box and he smashed a half volley into the net, sending the Cliftonhill faithful into full celebrations.
