The Reigart Stadium (Cliftonhill) is enjoying its 100th year in existence, having been opened in 1919.
The centenary celebrations will see numerous events throughout the year to honour the ground.
The club has teamed up with local business Veterans Brewing, who will produce a unique beverage to celebrate the centenary year. The company are the first craft brewery in the UK to be owned and ran by veterans, and they reside locally in Coatbridge. They support veterans through various charities and offer employment opportunities.
Chairman Eddie Hagerty is delighted with the collaboration.
“A novel feature of the Cliftonhill Centenary year will be the production and sale of this special brew by a local company Veterans Brewing. This will be sold locally giving some extra profile and profit to the club. It is also a fitting tribute to the time of the Great War in 1919, to have the brew made by such a wonderful company who work with war veterans. It will be a completely unique experience at the tasting night, where the fans can actually pick the brew that will be produced.”
On the 29th of March, at 7.30pm we will have the tasting night in the stadium, in which you can have the chance to sample brews and pick one, which will be taken forward and produced into a limited edition celebratory brew. This will be available for purchase at a future date. The night will also have a buffet curry.
Entry to the event will be £10 and you can book your place at the club shop or on the message board, this includes an indian buffet and three beers. Spaces will be limited, first come first served.
