We spoke to player/manager Darren Young, following Saturday’s draw at Peterhead.
“The boys were absolutely amazing and I was so happy and proud of them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a first 45 minutes as dominant as that.
“The game should have been over by half-time and we should have been 3 or 4-0 up. How we ended up 1-0 down then 2-0 down I’ll never know, but to come back from this and still be pushing on for the winner showed great character and desire from all the boys.
“We’re happy with a point after going 2-0 down but gutted we never got 3 after the effort and performance we put in.
“As for the injuries, we have Kevin McCann and Ross Davidson who will hopefully be back in training this week. Ryan Wallace will still be another week or two, whilst Paul Archibald will be back in around two weeks.”
“We’re happy with the squad we have and when players are out injured then it gives other’s a chance to come in and play. Everyone will play their part this season.
Ross Stewart, who signed from Kilwinning Rangers at the start of the season, opened his account for the season, salvaging a point for the Rovers with two clinical strikes.
“Ross is a great big guy and a pleasure to work with. He has fitted in well and everyone was delighted for him to get those two important goals. On another day he could’ve had a hat trick.
“He is very dedicated and always listening and learning. If he continues to improve he, like a few of the other players in the squad, could have big futures in the game.”
