After a promising performance in our opening pre-season friendly at home to Motherwell, we caught up with player/manager Darren Young, asking his take on the teams performance.
“Overall I thought the performance was pretty good from the boys. It was of course only only our first game back from the break, so we’ll obviously improve as we play more games. All things considered though, given it was against Premiership opposition, I thought we did really well.
“For now it’s all about the squad gaining fitness and getting sharp, something very important with the early introduction of the Betfred Cup.”
Making a huge impact in his first 45 minutes for the club, former Inverness striker Calum Ferguson was almost instantly signed up after the match, a signing Young is hugely excited about.
“Calum has been with us for a few weeks now and shown up and fitted in well with all of the boys. We just wanted to see him in a match and he impressed once more, against a Premiership opposition too.”
He added: “Anyone who was at the game will have been impressed with how he performed.”
