Dunfermline Match Preview

After recording a defeat at Ayr United last weekend, this afternoon we welcome second place Dunfermline Athletic to Cliftonhill.

The sides have met once already this season, a 3-0 defeat in Fife seeing the Pars come away with all three points. However, despite that defeat in late September, player/manager Darren Young still believes there were many positives to be taken from that match.

“I though our overall performance that day was great, but two bits of individual brilliance and a sloppy mistake cost us. We had several chances to get back into the game and we really found out that at this level if you don’t take your chances, you’ll get punished.”

Both Darren Young and John Gemmell will be unavailable through suspension, but otherwise the coaching staff will have a full squad to pick from.

Despite Dunfermline, top goal scorers in the league, posing an obvious attacking threat, Young suggests his side will still very much look to take the game to Alan Johnstone’s men.

“We’ll look to play our normal game and take it from there. Should certain things happen in the game we’ll obviously look to change things, but so far they way we’ve tried to play each game has served us well.”

“It’s also at home so we’re hoping for a big crowd and the fans to be our 12th man. We’re all desperate to bounce back after last weekend and get back to winning ways.”
