Darren Young has picked up the League One Manager of the Month award for October from SPFL sponsor Ladbrokes.
The accolade comes after a month which saw newly promoted Albion Rovers climb to joint third in the league table.
The delighted gaffer was presented with the award by David Macdonald from Ladbrokes at a rainy Cliftonhill.
Darren said: “We’re really happy with how the season is going so far and it’s a real honour to get this award, especially when you consider we’re new to this league and you look at the run some other teams have been on.
“At Albion Rovers it’s very much a team game and this is a joint award shared with not only my coaching team – Billy Stark, Tony McMinn and Ross Ballantyne – but also the players and the rest of the backroom staff.”
David Macdonald of Ladbrokes said: “What a remarkable journey Darren has taken the club on. With little expectation after winning promotion to the league he has managed to take the Cliftonhill side into forth position – the club’s nickname ‘The Wee Rovers’ certainly doesn’t reflect the character of the manager or players”.
Rovers are away to Ayr United this Saturday, kick off 3pm.
