Albion Rovers are dedicating this Saturday’s home game against Cowdenbeath to the memory of Gordon Dishington.
A great friend and servant to Albion Rovers as well as being a supporter, Gordon was a well kent and much loved character around Cliftonhill throughout his life and everyone at the club is deeply saddened by his recent passing.
The turnout at his funeral last Friday was overwhelming and proved just how much he was loved and respected by all who came into contact with him.
The Board of Directors felt it was only fitting that his years of service, especially on the commercial front, be marked in some way so we are renaming the Sponsors Lounge in his honour – it will now be known as the ‘Gordon Dishington Sponsors Lounge’.
Gordon’s family have been invited along this Saturday to officially unveil a plaque.
As this is our first home game since his death, there will also be a minutes applause for The Dish ahead of kick off.
We hope that everyone who knew Gordon will come along and help us celebrate his life and contribution to Rovers and the community.
