We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kevin Harper as the new manager of Albion Rovers.
The 42-year-old is well known in Scottish football, mainly for his spell as a player at Hibernian in the 1990’s.
He may not have quite lived up to the high expectations placed on him as a fast-paced teenager breaking through into the first team, however, he went on to have a very successful career spanning over 15 years.
He moved on to play for Derby County, Portsmouth and Stoke City in England playing under managers such as Harry Redknapp and Tony Pulis.
He then returned to Scottish football playing for Dunfermline Athletic at the close of his career.
In recent times he has set up his own football academy, the ‘Kevin Harper School of Excellence’ which has helped bring football to disadvantaged children. He has also completed his coaching badges up to the ‘A licence level’ which is accredited by the Scottish FA and UEFA.
The club received a high number of quality applicants, however, it was clear Kevin was the best person to take the club forward at what is a vital time in our season.
We will have an interview with Kevin on our social media channels in the near future, his backroom staff will also be announced in due course.
