It was a positive start for Rovers, after ten minutes Mark Ferry going through one-on-one, however, the midfielder could only dink an effort just wide of the target.

Just before the half hour mark it was Clyde’s turn to threaten, Dylan Easton dipping a powerful free-kick effort over the crossbar.

It was nearly the perfect finish to the first-half for Rovers when neat interplay at the edge of the box saw Calum Ferguson receive the ball with space, however, the Inverness-born striker could only drag his effort just wide of target.

The second half was a tight affair, Clyde beginning to hold onto the ball more whilst Rovers also looked comfortable in terms of possession. However, much to the delight of the vast majority of the 377 crowd, a clinical Ross Davidson finish put Rovers into the lead.

Thereafter, Clyde began to really put pressure on the Rovers goal and pile bodies forward, and at 74 minutes the pressure proved too much for the Rovers defence, Ewan McNeil rifling a strike into the bottom corner.

Just as penalties began to look ever-likely, at 91 minutes Clyde were awarded a penalty, after Mark Ferry was judged to have tripped Easton over in the box. Up stepped Easton, who sent Ross Stewart the wrong way and ensured the three points went back to Cumbernauld.
