Queen’s Park v Albion Rovers match preview
Category : Latest News
As Rovers prepare for their first trip of the season to the national stadium, manager Brian Kerr is eager to make amends for last week’s disappointing result against Ayr United.
Kerr said: ‘On behalf of myself and the players I’d like to apologise for the poor result last week. Everyone involved in the group has worked very hard in training to right the wrongs of last weekend.
‘Although I don’t think the result reflected the match overall we were disappointed with the basic errors that cost us goals. So for us all, the opportunity to erase last weeks match from the memory can’t come quick enough.
‘Queens Park also suffered an opening day league defeat, and they too will be looking to make amends. Gus McPherson’s teams are always very well organised, and we anticipate another very tough match. But I’m really hoping the pitch and surface at Hampden will suit the way we are trying to play’.
On the injury/suspension front, Michael McMillan is still suspended from last season and the Cliftonhill physio is treating one or two small injury niggles, but Rovers shouldn’t be too far away from having a full strength squad to choose from.
