It is with great sadness we report the death of former chairman Robin Warwick who died suddenly last week.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Robin’s family – his wife Fiona and their children Lesley, Duncan and Malcolm – at this sad time.
An architect by profession, Robin worked in the town for many years and was well loved and respected by all who knew him.
He was both a Director and Chairman of the club, holding the latter role of Chairman when the Rovers won the Division 2 championship in the 1988/ 89 season.
A life long supporter, he was at the last home game against Arbroath when the Rovers received the League 2 championship trophy and also made it through to the final game of the season where he saw his beloved Rovers win 5-1 away to East Stirling.
Robin was the club historian and the author of the well known book ‘The Boys from the Brig’ ( 1986) and the book ‘Champion Albion’ written about the championship winning season of 1988/89.
Robin was a Rovers’ man through and through: a member of of the Supporters’ Club, organiser of the ball boys, shareholder, season ticket holder and a true gentleman who had time for everyone.
The Rovers’ community has lost a true stalwart.
Robin’s funeral will be held this Friday, May 22nd, at New St Andrew’s Church, Church Street, at 12.30pm and then on to Holytown Crematorium at 1.30pm.
