All-action midfielder Ross Davidson has today become the latest player to secure his place at Cliftonhill for the 2016/17 season.
Davidson, who has made 61 appearances for Rovers since signing in early November 2014, has been a vital cog in the Rovers midfield during his time at the club and it was no surprise that other clubs declared their interest in the 22 year old Ayrshire born midfielder.
Davidson said: “As a club we’re going in the right direction so that really made me want to stay even more.
“Everyone is looking to better themselves so that was a big factor for me choosing Rovers . I’ve loved playing under the management and boys in the dressing room are brilliant, there’s a real togetherness around us and we’ll take that into the season ahead.”
“Personally I loved last season. I managed to again start the majority of games, being involved is only going to make me better so I’m hoping for more of the same this season.”
“As a club we had another great season considering we were tipped to get relegated we had a bit of a blip around Christmas time with the amount of games we had to catch up and boys out injured. I’m sure we would’ve made the play-offs if certain things went our way, but that’s behind us now and we look forward to the season ahead.”
“In terms of this season, I’d like to add a few more goals to my game so I’ll be working as hard as I can to do that. We’ll go into the campaign confident that we can beat anyone on our day when you look at last year, we made it really difficult for most teams we played against. Hopefully the fans get right behind us again this year and push us on one place better!”
With the club looking to consolidate its place in the Ladbrokes League One next season whilst also aiming high for success in the cups, the signing of Davidson should provide Rovers once again with a mixture of tenacity and technique in midfield.
