Rovers were this afternoon handed an extra bonus point after a penalty victory over Kilmarnock.
Rovers could have so easily taken the lead after just twenty minutes when Ryan Wallace had the ball in the net, however, much to the annoyance of the way support, the referee judged Wallace to have fouled goalkeeper Oliver Davies in the build up.
Despite both Rovers and Killie having spells in which it looked as if they would open the scoring, our final Betfred Cup Group match went to penalties.
It was a high standard of penalties, until Northern Ireland international Josh Magennis, who only a month earlier was playing at the Euros, saw his penalty fantastically saved by Ross Stewart. ]
With Kye Turnbull also converting, up-stepped substitute Scott McBride who coolly dispatched his penalty to win the game for the Rovers.
