Rovers given tough workout in pre-season friendly
Category : Latest News
Albion Rovers were this afternoon defeated by Motherwell in a home pre-season friendly.
It was Rovers who took the lead, after 21 minutes trialist Callum Ferguson slipping through Paul Wills, who showed real composure to fire a strike to the side of Craig Samson in the Motherwell goal.
Just under 15 minutes later Motherwell equalised, Louis Moult heading home from a Marvin Johnson cross.
Motherwell took the lead with just five minutes left of the first-half, the dangerous Marvin Johnson again causing problems, this time firing an effort into the corner of the net.
The substitutions that were scattered across the second period saw the rhythm of the match slightly deteriorate, however, with 20 minutes left of the clock Keith Lasley added a third of the afternoon, guiding a volley into the back of the net.
