Team supported as a boy?

Rangers. When I was younger I used to have a season ticket and never missed a game, but when I was signed for Aberdeen aged 12, I had to give that up and focus on my own game. I do still go back sometimes, Ibrox’s atmosphere is brilliant and maybe I might get to play there one day.

What age did you know you wanted to be a footballer?

I can’t remember what exact age I was but I knew from a very young age I wanted to be a footballer. All I did was go out and play football with my mates. Everything was and is about football for me.

What clubs have you been at?

I’ve been at Aberdeen and Motherwell but I was also on trial for Hibs and Kilmarnock when I left Aberdeen before I went to Motherwell.

Pre-match superstitions?

I’ve not got many pre-match superstitions but the one I do right before the game is touch the cross bar at the two points and in the middle. I know it may sound daft but all superstitions are!

Pre-match meals?

I like to mix it up. I don’t like to have the same pre-match meal all the time and it really depends if it’s a night time or afternoon game.

Best player you’ve played with and against?

I couldn’t pick a best player I’ve played with cause I’ve played with a lot but probably the best player I’ve played against would be Gnabry from Arsenal.

Most embarrassing moment in a match?

Give me a few years and I’ll come back to you with that one!

Best chant you’ve ever heard?

Probably at Motherwell, Bob McHughes’ chant was brilliant and the full stadium sang along. It’s a bit too long to type, but it went along the line of “10 burds went to bed, went to bed with Bobby.”

Would you want to get into management in the future?

I don’t know, I’ve not really thought about it. I’m just starting out in my playing career so I’ll think about that later on.

Who is the best player in training?

I’ll probably give that one to Paul Willis.

Who moans the most in the squad?

Probably John Gemmell.

Who is the joker in the squad?

Ally Love.

Funniest dressing room prank?

I’ve seen lots of dressing room pranks but I’ll probably give that one to Lee Hollis when I was at Motherwell for his famous ‘jobbie moustache’

Where would you like to be, in terms of football, in five years time?

Hopefully back in full time football, continuing to play week in week out and keep progressing and bettering myself.
