Update about tomorrow’s match. From Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser ” Albion Rovers huge Scottish Cup clash with St Johnstone could be at risk – with winter biting in Monklands leaving the pitch blanketed in snow.
The pitch is currently coated in snow and chairman Ronnie Boyd has asked for volunteers to come forward to help clear the stadium from 9am on Saturday (January 20).
A match official will visit the stadium at around 9.30am to view what has been cleared by that stage.”We hope that the section we will have cleared by 9.30am will be judged to be perfectly playable.
“We will clear part of the pitch and then the referee will tell us if that part is playable, then give us the go-ahead to clear the rest of the stadium for kick-off.”
