Tomorrow sees Rovers return to action, facing Motherwell in our first pre-season friendly of the campaign, a club our goalkeeper Ross Stewart knows all about. We caught up with the former Motherwell youth ahead of Saturday.
“It’s great to be back pre-season is going great and all the lads are looking fit and ready for the season ahead. I’m looking forward to getting the games under way and get right back to it.”
“This game is a pre-season friendly to get us fit and game ready for the season ahead so I’m not really bothered who it is we are playing, even if it is my old team. I’m with Albion Rovers now and my only focus is on being ready for our season ahead and hopefully going one step further than we did last season. But yeah, it would be nice to put one over them.”
With the departure of former Goalkeeping Coach Ross Ballantyne at the end of last season, Scotland National Coach Lindsay Hamilton now occupies that role, an appointment Stewart was delighted with for a number of reasons.
“Lindsay was my first ever goalie coach when I was 10 years old. He has a lot of experience which I hope he can use to help me develop even more this season I’m looking forward to working with him this season and hopefully I can push on and keep progressing in my development.”
