On Saturday afternoon Rovers head to local rivals Airdrieonians for the second time this season.
The two sides met in early September, a disappointing 3-1 victory for Gary Bollan’s side seeing the Diamonds leave Cliftonhill with all three points.
With this being the first meeting between the sides since that frustrating defeat, player/manager Darren Young is now confident that the side, currently on a fantastic run, can make amends.
“It would be great to get another three points and clean sheet to continue our good form. We managed to get a good result against them at the Excelsior last season, we also made a good account of ourselves against them in the match earlier this season.”
“If we can keep it nice and tight at the back then I have every confidence we will create chances, it will then be just a case of taking them. Training has been good this week, short, sharp and the boys are really looking forward to it.”
Although he should be back in the mix for next weekend’s match against Cowdenbeath, striker Callum McRobbie is still out injured after a knock a few weeks ago in a bounce match, apart from that, the Management team has a full squad to pick from.
“I’m expecting it to be end to end with two teams battling away to get the better of each other.” Young said ahead of the Derby.
He added: “The fans and the players will both be up for this one and we hope to give our fans something to go home and talk about. ”
Rovers fans will be situated in section A, B and C in the Main Stand.
