On Saturday afternoon we welcome Alloa Athletic to the Exsel Group Stadium, in our second home clash of the Ladbrokes League One 2016/17 season.
Jack Ross’s side, who were relegated from the Championship last season, have had a fine start to their campaign thus far – winning their opening three matches in the league and performing well in the cups too.
However, despite their promising start to the season, player/manager Darren Young suggests that if a similar performance as to last week at Peterhead is shown, the Vers will have a good chance to take all three points.
Alloa are flying and have now won eight games in a row, therefore they will be coming into this game full of confidence. If we can perform they way we did against Peterhead then I’m sure we’ll have a chance of causing an upset.
Alloa have strength in depth all over the park – particularly in the forward areas – so we will need to be at our best to shut them out and also take our chances when they come along.
I won’t need to say anything to the guys they know they played well and there was a feel good factor after last weeks game in the changing room although there was also a bit of disappointment that we never picked up all 3 points
We have three home games coming up so hopefully we can get ourselves on a wee run and pick up some much needed points.
If Rovers are to collect all three points, they’ll need to do so without midfield magician Paul Archibald, whilst Ross Davidson, Ryan Wallace and striker Calum Ferguson also may miss out due to injuries.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate, prices as follows:
